History

1978 (September): Creation of the new company, SCOMO SARL, by Pierre Benac.
Sales of new and used machine tools for sheet metal working and mechanical applications. The company has three staff including its founder.

1985: Exclusive partnership contract for the South West with Japanese CNC machining centre and lathe manufacturer MORI SEIKI. That brand starts to be established in the South West.

1992: Company’s head office moves to the aerospace business park in Saint Martin du Touch - TOULOUSE, occupying 6,000 m², opposite the EADS plants.
The company becomes a public limited liability company.

2000: Association with Brive-based EUSIMETAL, a company specialising in rebuilds, maintenance and plant transfers.
Today, EUSIMETALL has 17 staff.

2002: Exclusive sales representation contract signed with HAAS AUTOMATION from the United State.

2008: Involvement in the creation of SUD-MO in NOUSTY (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), specialising in CNC rebuilds and maintenance.
SUD MO has 10 staff..

2008 (February): Buy-out of TEYSSOU RHONES ALPES, a company specialising in used machine tool sales.

2011: After a 30-year partnership and following a structural change in sales representation arrangements, the joint venture between SCOMO and MORI SEIKI comes to an end.
SCOMO then emparks on the exclusive representation of South Korean manufacturer DOOSAN MACHINE TOOLS in the South West.
From the first year, DOOSAN MACHINE TOOLS sees growth in sales of more than 100% across the territory granted to SCOMO.

2013: SCOMO receives exclusive representation rights from DOOSAN MACHINE TOOLS for Brittany, the Pays de Loir and the Vendée, in addition to the South West.

2014: SCOMO receives exclusive representation rights from DOOSAN MACHINE TOOLS for the Central France, Orne, Sarthe, Mayenne and the West of Paris.

2014 (July): Buy-out of ATEMO in Savigny sur Orge (Paris region), exclusive distributor in France for ultra high-performance equipment manufacturers BRETON and MANDELLI.

2015: First open days at ATEMO in Savigny Sur Orge.
